<Poem>

<Translation>
Long ago when I came to Hsiang-yang
I was just starting to grow a moustache.
Now when I visit Hsiang-yang
moustache and sidelocks are half gray.
Everything about that past trip a dream－
I came in a rush, rushed home again.
Thatch-roofed house east of the outer wall,
half falling down－who lives there now?
Old friends, most of them scattered and gone,
even the village has moved to another site.
Only there waters of the autumn river,
mist-veiled waves the same as long age.
